I get this question almost everyday. It is about time to talk about the hotels in Ao Nang that I can recommen, where myself or my guests had stayed before. I know a number of hotels, but this time I am choosing them according to a particular criteria – economical class hotels. They are comparatively cheap, but still good quality. Of course if you pay 15-30 Eur during the seasonal time, do not expect anything too luxurious.

Ben’s house – we lived in this hotel for good 1,5 months, when we were in Ao Nang and did not know whether we are going to stay there or not. The hotel is clean, the rooms are bright and spacious. In a quiet neighborhood but near the city centre and local food market. The hotel is near the sea and has a small pool. Using this link insert your vacation dates, the prices vary from 15-30 Eur.
Ao Nang bamboo village – little further from the sea. Thai style bamboo houses, if you want to feel like a local. A lot of Thais still live in similar houses. Of course most of them do not have a pool. It is a quiet space, but if you go to the main street, there are quite a few good places to eat. However, during the season, the price is a bit irrational – they ask around 30 Eur for two people a night. The link is through Booking.
Ao Nang Cliff view resort – before coming to Ao Nang, we planned to stay here. Thai stule houses, pool with a great view, what else do you need if you plan to spend less time in the hotel? Choose which system is better for you to book it: Booking or Agoda.
Ao Nang eco inn – this one does not have a pool, but is in the heart of city centre and just 7 min. away from the sea, it also has great reviews. Also on the main street in the city centre, good for those night life lovers. You can book the hotel through Booking and Agoda.
Green Leaf house – this hotel is further from the sea, but has its own advantages. Nearby are one of our favorite places to eat, restaurants that are loved by the locals. So if you are looking for cheap but good food, we recommend staying at this hotel! There are food market, two supermarkets close by. You can book it through Booking or Agoda.
Ao Nang Miti resort– is close to the place where we lived. Very clean, and further from the main street, has a small pool and many local places to eat on a budget. Only 15 min to the sea. Book via Booking or Agoda.
The Nine hotel @ Ao Nang-one more hotel in the centre of Ao Nang, close to the sea. Does not have a pool, but it is very charming. Has really good reviews and is booked most of the time. Can order via Booking or Agoda.
The dream garden – a hotel, where my best friend has her own travel agency. Let her know that Simona recommended you this place and she will give you a special price for the tours. The hotel is clean and tidy, in the heart of the city, only few minutes from the city centre. Ideal for budget travellers, in reality it looks exactly as you see in the photos. Booking is available via Agoda.
Chatchada hotel itself is nothing special, but the owner is amazing. Her energy and good mood is contagious, and she is famous for her breakfast that she makes herself. There is Tesco lotus shop near by, the sea is 20 min. away. Unfortunately, I can not find a photo of the owner, as I would illustrate this column with her. Dawn of happiness Nathai Garden resort – I will start from the negative side of this hotel. The price is quite high even off the season. They have troubles to sell their product on the internet, as recently they closed their Booking account, perhaps they could remember their login details. They always have less guests than they would deserve. Besides that, the hotel is very clean, their owners are amazing. If you wish to have “Thai family”, stau here and you will not regret. They have their own garden, so most of the food you order there will be prepared with the ingredients from grown there.Restaurants prices vary from 40-60 thb and that is extremely cheap, other hotel restaurants charge three times more. The place is very quiet, and you will not be able to live without a scooter (for tips for renting a scooter, write to us). We wanted to rent a house here, but last minute decided for kids to live in a hotel during the school year is not the best decision. I give 9 out of 10 for this hotel. In other words, the hotel is for those who want to feel the real culture of Thailand. Book via Booking or Agoda.
